Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from North Park University, along with a middle school Social Science teaching endorsement. I also have a professional educator's license. These focuses have honed my teaching skills and deepened my love for education. I really enjoy teaching, and have taught a wide age range of students, from elementary schoolers learning reading comprehension and writing skills to my peers in college who needed help with statistics. I have also taught middle school literature, mathematics, social science, and test preparation. I use test prep as an opportunity to show my students that they can have fun studying for standardized tests, even though this can seem stressful at first. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor are math and literature. I believe these subjects are the foundation to teaching students to enjoy learning their entire lives, and using their education to make their passions become a reality. Students who value education become great, responsible members of society, and it is my responsibility to help them see that. When I'm not tutoring, I am teaching myself how to knit, because I love to build things and make crafts with my hands. I also enjoy traveling, baking, and singing.
